Teaching kids to love nature! Gotta love it. I had the privelege of being a chaperone on this Field Trip. Kids got to see a natural bee hive, snake floating down the creek, deer tracks and so much more! It was hot but there was so much to learn about nature. Of course eating blackberries right off the vine was the best part.

2nd Annual School's Almost Out Party
Another exciting year has come to an end as the kids prepare for their summer break. We celebrated with Jacob's and Christian's classmates as well as Jacob's soccer teammates on Friday night. Why not "School's Out Party"? Well,
that is when so many go on
vacation. We want to do our best to try and celebrate with as many friends as possible - and that we did!!!!
It was fun in the sun as the kids got to slip and slide or frolick in the inflatable pool. Many of them had fun bouncing each other on the
trampoline - almost too much fun as there were WAY MORE than the
recommended "one jumper at a time" - YIKES! Thanks to several parents who helped monitor the big kids from the little kids so that nobody ended up in the hospital, and to the parents who tried - to no avail (uh-oh). After a burger/hot dog the kids were invited to the driveway for a water balloon toss. Mrs. F' thought it would be good to let the big kids do their own "controlled" toss and the little kids do their own toss in an effort to not get anyone hurt. But Mr. F' thought, "water balloon toss controlled? No way!" So he suggested that everyone pelt Mrs. F' with the 100 + water balloons!!! The kids had a look of "really?" but it didn't take long once they realized they had me cornered against the garage door. It was a sight to see - if you were the ones throwing or watching!!!! The little kids didn't quite know what to make of it all as they were sitting soooo patiently on the side waiting their turn at the water balloon toss.
After all that excitement many of the kids opted for shooting hoops, playing soccer, sidewalk/driveway painting or chalking, or old-fashioned Frog Hunting past dark! The parents were able to enjoy each others' company, meet new friends, play horse shoes and just relax. I think we did that till midnight!
Kids love to be kids and that is what this party is about. They get to be themselves, get dirty, have fun, eat chips and desserts and wear themselves out! After all, they deserve to be rewarded for another successful year!
